I only know half of the First Vision

Jan 25, 2021 Hello everybody! I hope you are all doing great!! This last week started off with interviews with President Ashcraft. It is pretty impressive considering he has just about 230 missionaries in the Orlando mission right now! Most of the time I spent with him we talked about how I have been adjusting. I am glad to say, I am doing pretty good!  On Tuesday, we had two lessons that we taught the Restoration in. It is such a special lesson to teach. People get to learn that they have a loving Heavenly Father, a Savior, and the gospel has been restored through Joseph Smith. It is so special and the Spirit is always so strong!! As part of it, we always quote the First Vision using Joseph Smith's own words. One of the families we taught asked if we could do it in Japanese, and thankfully, Sister Crandell and I always recite it in Japanese at the start of our language study, so we were able to do it. One day during language study, we were like "how about one of us say one wo

Jan 18, 2021 Hello everybody!! I hope you all had a wonderful week!! This week was full of miracles! It is amazing to see how God works in the details of our lives.  Gray dots- So because we can't go out tracting, we do a lot of phone calls to find people. Sometimes we will just call random numbers in the area, but we will also call numbers in our area book. The ones in our area book a lot of the time are people who haven't been taught in a while, were too busy, or not interested at the time. So one night we were calling a whole bunch of these people, and we weren't having a whole lot of success. Then right at the end, we called a number and they literally answered going "Hey Sisters!!!" We thought we had accidently called a member haha. We talked with them and turns out they had been found right before Covid happened and so they were never able to do anything with the old missionaries. Then they pretty much invited us over to their house for Sunday so we could w

Jan 11, 2021 Hello everybody!! Nothing too crazy happened this week. It was probably the most normal week I have had so far.  We had two pretty amazing lessons though this week.  K-So we decided to focus on God's love this week with Kael. From her lesson, the biggest take away I got was that our Heavenly Father loves us so much. He is so completely aware of our trials and what we are going through. We talked with K that our parents can tell us they love us, but they also show us that they love us, too. We said Heavenly Father can't tell us in person that He loves us, BUT there are things all around us that can show His love. They are the tender mercies that show that He cares and is aware. They are the parts of nature that help us feel calm. And they can be through the actions of others. We encouraged her to find a way that God showed her love through someone else each day this week. We have been doing it as well, and it is amazing to see how God is willing to show us His love

Jan 4, 2021 Hello everybody!! And Happy New Year!! We had so many exciting things happen this week.  Alyson got baptized yesterday!! I have absolutely loved getting to know her and her family in the few weeks I have been here. She is one of the sweetest 10 year-olds I have ever met. She was so ready to be baptized and take this first step. We spent some time going reviewing what we had taught her and getting her ready for her interview. Well, we started talking about prophets, and asked her who the current prophet is. Her 8 year old sister yells out "It's M guy!" All they could remember from Russell M Nelson was the M part so that's what she said. It was so funny and we all lost it. I have loved watching Alyson and her family grow closer as they learn and apply more of the gospel in their lives. K came to church!! This one was probably the biggest miracle of the week. K has a lot of anxiety and hasn't been to church since Covid shut everything down. We have invit
