We need faith!!

 Jan 11, 2021

Hello everybody!!

Nothing too crazy happened this week. It was probably the most normal week I have had so far.

We had two pretty amazing lessons though this week.

K-So we decided to focus on God's love this week with Kael. From her lesson, the biggest take away I got was that our Heavenly Father loves us so much. He is so completely aware of our trials and what we are going through. We talked with K that our parents can tell us they love us, but they also show us that they love us, too. We said Heavenly Father can't tell us in person that He loves us, BUT there are things all around us that can show His love. They are the tender mercies that show that He cares and is aware. They are the parts of nature that help us feel calm. And they can be through the actions of others. We encouraged her to find a way that God showed her love through someone else each day this week. We have been doing it as well, and it is amazing to see how God is willing to show us His love through the people He puts in our path. Also K came to church again. Woot Woot!

Faith lesson-We have been teaching this couple and this week we wanted to help them find ways to build their faith. So we talked about how we can read the scriptures and pray. When we invited them to do that, one of the people said that when they do, it seems that's when all of the trials begin. As I thought about that it makes sense. Think of Joseph Smith, when he prayed and before Heavenly Father and Christ appeared, he faced opposition. He could have stopped, but he continued to pray. And I am so thankful he did so that the gospel could be restored to the earth. I studied faith a lot this week. One common thing I noticed is how when we have faith, we also have trust, and we endure, and have patience. I came to understand for myself that when we have faith in God, we trust Him completely and we are willing to endure our trials with patience. One scripture that I absolutely love is Mosiah 4:9:

"9 Believe in God; believe that he is, and that he created all things, both in heaven and in earth; believe that he has all wisdom, and all power, both in heaven and in earth; believe that man doth not comprehend all the things which the Lord can comprehend"

We may not understand everything or why things happen the way they do, but God does.

I hope you all have an amazing week!!
