Freeze warning

January 24, 2022

Hello everybody!

We are just living life up in the Canoe Creek area! So many good things happened the last couple of weeks so here's a quick update!

Brenda!

I have been really wanting to teach another family. So the other week we were going through our area book and came across this one lady. We called, shared a verse from the Book of Mormon and asked if she'd like to learn more, and she said yes! Well, when we went to drop off the Book of Mormon at her house, we ended up meeting her 11 and 8 year old sons! How awesome is that! And one of the boys was so excited to get the Book, he said, "mom! There's even a table of contents!" It was the cutest thing ever! So hopefully we will get to start teaching them more!

Marcelino!

He is an incredible referral we got from some Sisters in New York! He wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon! We went over and read part of it with him and explained what it was and he was so excited to start reading it. Huge miracle! He also has Sundays off from work, so He said he'd like to start coming to church with us! We are so excited to get to know him better and teach him more about the gospel!

Gilbert!

Crazy story! We went to this house of someone that had been previously taught. It said it was just a husband and wife that lived there, but when we knocked, a teenager answered the door. We were looking for Gilbert, but turns out this family had just moved in a couple of days before that. Turns out this kids name was also Gilbert though! When we asked if he thought his family would be interested in a message he said yes! It was such a crazy coincidence, that just shows me it wasn't a coincidence.

Wil's day!

So last weekend was my brother Wil's birthday and turns out Sister Pierce has a friend named Will that also had a birthday that day. So we decided that the day should be Wil's day. We did some Facebook finding and decided to search up the name Will, and we found this really amazing guy that is interested in coming to church since he hasn't been in a long time. Just shows how aware God is of each of us. He knew I would have a brother and Sister Pierce would have a friend named Wil that would lead us to finding the Will on Facebook! Another too good to be coincidence.

Over the last couple of weeks I've been learning a lot about Christ and how we find joy through Him amidst our trials. It's definitely not the easiest thing in the world, but it is there. This last week was pretty tough for a lot of different reasons, but I notice that the moments I feel the happiest, and at peace, and closest to the Savior are when I am testifying of Jesus Christ. There's a verse that I absolutely love in Alma 17

10 And it came to pass that the Lord did visit them with his Spirit, and said unto them: Be comforted. And they were comforted.

11 And the Lord said unto them also: Go forth among the Lamanites, thy brethren, and establish my word; yet ye shall be patient in long-suffering and afflictions, that ye may show forth good examples unto them in me, and I will make an instrument of thee in my hands unto the salvation of many souls.

I love that in verse 11 it talks about that we need to be patient through our trials. But in verse 10 he also gives us comfort. We are then able to use those experiences to be good examples to those around us, and He will be able to use us in His hands. I have seen this week as some of the trials that I have faced in my life and especially on the mission have helped me to relate to and help those around me. I'd invite all of you to pray and ask God how you can use your trials to bless those around you this week! He will use you!!!

I love you all and I hope you have a great week!
