God is a buzzerbeater

April 26, 2022

Hello everybody!

Here's a quick update on some of the miracles and other fun things happening over here in Florida!

Brenda and her family!

Two weeks ago, we were out knocking on doors of people who had been previously taught. We knocked on Brenda's door and I was pretty sure she wouldn't remember me from when I visited a couple of months ago, but she did! We told her that we were sharing a quick 10 minute Easter message and she let us come in and share it with her boys! We shared a verse about the resurrection and she was amazed that we believed everyone would have the opportunity to be resurrected. And it turns out, we knocked on her only day off that week, a Tuesday, which we thought was so random, but God is aware!

Chapel tour and BoM with Josh

We invited a whole bunch of people on Facebook to come to Easter Sunday, and we ended up extending a lot of chapel tour invites too! One person took us up on it, Josh! We gave him and his mom a chapel tour and then we ended up following up by sharing a verse from the Book of Mormon. He asked what is in the Book of Mormon that isn't in the Bible and that led to an almost hour long phone call! He had so many good questions and it gave us so many good opportunities to bear our testimonies! Hopefully he will start to read it and we will be able to talk with him more!

Stake culture night

Our stake had such a fun activity the other night. It was a culture night, they had lots of tables set up with food from all over for people to eat. And then they had people from different countries perform traditional dances from their countries and it was so cool to watch! It ended with all of the missionaries dancing to the boot scoot and boogie haha. It was such a fun night and we got to talk with so many people!

Lunch with Willis'

I got to have lunch with some members from Vero this week! I haven't seen them in almost 7 months so it was exciting to catch up a little! Meeting members and getting to know them has been such a highlight of my mission. I have met so many incredible people and I am so grateful for their examples and testimonies!

Marcelino and temple tour

We got to go with Marcelino to the temple this week! We just walked around the outside, and he absolutely loved it! He kept mentioning how much peace he felt even on the grounds. It was such a testament to me of the power of temple. I know temples are where we can be close to God and where our family is able to be sealed for eternity. I am so grateful there are so many temples around the world for us to get power from!

Street contacting in Lake Nona

We went on exchanges this week so I got to spend the day in Lake Nona! We went street contacting after our dinner, and we met so many amazing people! We met someone from Brazil, Colombia, Yugoslavia, Korea, and China! All in just one little neighborhood. It was a reminder to me of how the gospel is for the world, not just the people in Florida or Japan, but everyone! Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World and everyone deserves a chance to learn about Him!

Honk 4 Jesus

Best miracle this week! So sometimes us and the other Sisters will go out and set up a little free lemonade stand to talk to people. Well last Saturday we decided to set up our little table by Walmart with a sign that said Honk 4 Jesus on it and we saw huge miracles! We ended up giving two Book of Mormons and two Restoration pamphlets! We got two people's phone numbers and one of them was a man who told us he had been baptized Mormon as a kid but hadn't been to church in forever and wanted to come back. Craziest part, he had only been in St Cloud for 3 weeks!! And the other was a man that has been looking for ways to change his life and he just happened to walk past us. But wait, it gets even better. We were walking back to our car after we were done with the stand, and this guy yells over and says what church are you part of. We told him and he said he wanted to check it out sometime, so we got his phone number! Now all three are planning on coming this Sunday! God is so good and He most certainly works in mysterious ways like Honk 4 Jesus signs.

Well this is my last full week as a missionary! I am so grateful for the time I have been able to spend in Florida and for all of you! I have learned so many things, but I think the most important is that God truly is our loving God Heavenly Father. He loves us so much and He is so willing to bless us! I have seen how people have been changed through the gospel and those are experiences I will never forget!

I love you all so much! Have the best week ever!
