Hello everybody!
I hope you all had a fantastic week and an even better conference weekend! Conference really does feel like a holiday when you are a missionary haha!
We got transfer news this week! I am headed back to St. Cloud! I am going to be serving in the Canoe Creek area which is in the same stake as Narcoossee, which is where I started! When President called us, he said, "Sister Wixom I know you were just there, but..." lol. I don't know exactly why I need to go back, but I guess there is more work for me to do there! Of course I am so sad to be leaving Vero. I have grown to love so many wonderful people here! This weekend has been full of pictures and goodbyes, and maybe a couple of tears! I am grateful for the things I have been able to learn while being here and the miracles I have seen! Can't wait to see what Canoe Creek has in store for me!
Biggest part of the week: Dave's baptism!!! It was so good! He kept saying "I'm floating right now!" So pure! As part of the baptism, Dave got up and he bore his testimony. I was really impressed by the things he said, and you could tell it was from his heart. He talked about how he finally felt like he was a part of something and that he has a chance to keep learning and growing and building on the testimony he already has. He got emotional thinking about the fact that not only was he baptized, but he was going to get the gift of the Holy Ghost. That he was always going to have Him as a companion to help him when things get hard or keep Him helping him when things are going well. I am so excited for him and so grateful I got to be a part of his journey!
So something that has been on my mind a lot recently is the Priesthood. We have so many people here that it seems there is just one thing holding them back, and a lot of the time it is that priesthood power and authority we hold. I have come to understand that the Priesthood isn't something that God has given us to divide us or make some more superior than others. He gives it to us so that all of His children can have access to the blessings associated with it. Without the Priesthood, we wouldn't be able to be baptized as Christ was, we wouldn't be able to receive blessings, we wouldn't be able to be sealed as families for eternity, we wouldn't have God's power in our life. I know that the Priesthood has been restored and through it, we can receive the blessing that God has in store for us!
So, conference! It was so so good! If you didn't get a chance to watch or listen to it, I'd invite you to go and do it! There were so many amazing messages shared that I know were inspired for right now! I loved the overall theme of coming closer to Christ, uniting ourselves, using repentance as a process not to become perfect but to improve each day, and looking for the good and God's hand each day! I don't know about the rest of y'all, but I felt like every question or thing I have been pondering about was answered! That is one of my favorite parts about conference, besides the snacks of course;) When we have an open heart and mind, the Spirit can testify to us and teach us the things that each of us individually is supposed to know. I know that as we follow the counsel given to us, we will grow closer to God and feel His love more fully in our lives.
I love you all! And I hope that you have a great week.
Love you all!
