We got a little soaked.

Hello everybody!

We are one week into this transfer, and all I can say is, I think there are going to see some pretty amazing miracles!

We had such an amazing experience this week with a couple that we are teaching. They have been struggling to recognize the spiritual experiences they have had or are having, so for our lesson this week, we decided to say a kneeling prayer with them at the end of it. At the end of the prayer, we asked them how they were feeling. One wasn't completely sure, so we were like, "is it peace or good?" and the other one goes, "I would describe it more as a calm." It was such a miracle! The Spirit was so strong at that moment, and I am so happy they were able to recognize it!!

That lesson really got me thinking about the power of prayer. We read Enos, which is one of my favorite chapters in the Book of Mormon that talks about prayer. My favorite verses are 4 and 5

"4 And my soul hungered; and I kneeled down before my Maker, and I cried unto him in mighty prayer and supplication for mine own soul; and all the day long did I cry unto him; yea, and when the night came I did still raise my voice high that it reached the heavens.

5 And there came a voice unto me, saying: Enos, thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou shalt be blessed."

When I read them this time, I thought of something President Ashcraft told us once. He said that when we are praying there are ways to make our prayers more meaningful. We can start off by imagining that our Heavenly Father is sitting right there listening to us, we can say our prayers out loud, even if it is just a whisper, and we can kneel as a way to show that we are humble. I like to think that Enos did each of those things. He kneeled imaging that Heavenly Father was there and he cried to him asking for forgiveness. I have seen the miracles that can come as I have prayed in faith and I know each of you can see those same miracles as you pray!

Other exciting things from this week

1-Rain doesn't always stop after five minutes in Florida.

2-Chicken noodle soup is one of the 3 soups I like.

3-Sister Welling can make some pretty good homemade tortilla strips.

4-New districts are always so fun!

5-I love the Brother of Jared and his faith!

6-Cold texting is super weird, but there are some pretty amazing miracles that come from it. We got 5 responses this week in about an hour of each other!

7-If you ever need sugar, the Elders probably have it.

8-It means a lot to people when you show up and support, even if it is not the most convenient for you.

9-Grilled PB&Js are literally one of my favorite things.

10-The Spirit will always guide you in what to say!

I hope you all have a great week and that you are able to take time to pray!
