Somebody Stole Alfred

Hello everybody! 

I hope y'all had a great week and are getting pumped for general conference this week. The church has put out a couple of really awesome videos. One being the #startingtoday video focusing on how because of Christ we have the chance to start over today. President Nelson shared a video yesterday for Palm Sunday where he talked about the peace and hope that we can find this Easter season because of Jesus Christ. My favorite part was when he talked about the palms of the Savior's hand. Christ has promised to never forget us. We are engraven in his hands. I am so grateful for this Easter season and that we have the chance to remember the Savior and His sacrifice, but also His resurrection. I would go watch those videos if you haven't yet, they are so good!



We had a pretty amazing lesson this week where we showed the family the starting today video. We asked what they liked from it and one of them pointed out the joy that comes through change. I think sometimes we see change, and especially repentance, as a painful experience. When in reality, repentance, or a change of heart, is a joyful experience! We have the chance to become better through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. The Atonement isn't just for repentance and overcoming mistakes. We are also able to find strength and comfort through it. Someone asked us, "What if I don't see those promises happening?" We had a great conversation about how it is like when you get hurt. You feel the pain and it isn't healed immediately, but over time, the pain fades. It is hard to see it moment to moment, but when you look back a week ago, you can see the healing that happened. That's how the Atonement of Christ works. As we turn to Christ, He heals us, but it takes time. We might not feel joy right away, but we will feel less pain. I love the hope the Atonement brings me! 


Lots of little things to be learned this week. 

1- I can make a basketball with melted chocolate and butterscotch chips. 

2- Key-lime pie liquid nitrogen ice cream is pretty pretty tasty. 

3-The curb in front of our house is a great spot for doing lessons. 

4-We are pretty sure Alfred either got ducknapped or he has chosen different people to be a pet for. 

5-Sister Butterfield's nickname is butterbread to some. 

6-Chick-fil-a's frozen lemonade is far better than Wawa's lemonade shake. 

7-There are some pretty good gluten-free chocolate chip cookies out there. 

8-I got to see fireflies for the first time this week!

9-We can bike the whole lakefront down and back in 40 minutes. Of course, that's with distractions, though. 

10-Sometimes we go through hard things so that we can help others more fully understand the blessings of the gospel.

 December 5, 2020 Hello everybody! So many good things have happened recently! There are miracles all around us, God is so good!! Last weekend I had the chance to go to the temple with my companion, Tu'ineau shimai! She had invited me to go with her when she went through the temple, and of course I said yes. It was such a special experience to 1-be in the temple again and 2-meet my MTC companion in person.  I love the temple, it has always been a special place for me. Over the last year, my testimony and love for the temple has grown so much through the experiences I have had. One of the hardest things recently, is not being able to feel the peace that the temple brings me. Our teachers have encouraged us to make a place in our home our very own temple while all the temples are closed. A place that we can go to feel peace and close to God.  Sep 6, 2021, 2021 Hello everybody!  This week was miracle after miracle after miracle! It was amazing and an absolute amazing reminder of how incredible it is to be a missionary.  3 news  So throughout the week we have time set apart that we find people to teach. We will either look on social media, talk to members, go through our area book. All sorts of thing. Well...in a normal week for us we maybe find 1 or 2 new people. On Tuesday last week, we found 3 new people! By the end of the week we had a total of 5! There are so many people that have been prepared.  Saved contacts We decided we were going to contact a bunch of people one night and I had the thought to call Liz. Well...when I looked Liz up in our area book to get her number it wasn't there! Sometimes, if a person hasn't shown interest in a really really long time, their record will get deleted. I'm a real FOM missionary

November 8, 2021 Hello everybody! How are y'all doing? How was your week? Because mine was all over the place! We had so many miracles when it came to member meals this week! Our favorite was definitely when this couple invited us to go to the temple with them! So background, Sister Blanchard is going to France next Monday and she really wanted to go to the temple before she left. We called President Ashcraft and he said there wasn't any way we could just go. So we had been praying and praying that there would be a reason we could go to the temple. Then we go to this member meal and we get talking about the temple. Turns out, the wife has been asking and asking people if they could go and everyone kept turning her down. So now, we get to go! And to make it even better, when we asked President Ashcraft about it, he encouraged us to take a recent convert with us and we just happen to have a friend named Angel who has never been!
