"Tender mercies"

Hello everybody!!

I hope you all had an amazing week and ate some pie for pi day yesterday!

This week we had a couple of pretty amazing lessons and trainings! There are always new things to learn in the gospel!

At District Council this week, an Elder gave a training on charity. He focused on why we as missionaries should have a desire to have charity for those around us. He shared with us 1 Corinthians 13:2 

"2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." 

I love that! I love that charity is the most important thing for us to have. I have seen as my charity for those I am serving has grown so much! We talked a lot about how as we learn to love and have charity for those we meet, we can know the exact things that will help them grow closer to Christ and Heavenly Father. Charity is the most important thing!

We also had a lesson this week where we talked about how as we live the gospel, there are sacrifices we need to make. When we live the Law of Tithing, we sacrifice 10 percent of our income, but the Lord will bless us. That doesn't mean the blessings we receive will be financial blessings, but there will be blessings. When we live the Word of Wisdom, we sacrifice certain things we will not partake of. We don't have the promise that as we live the Word of Wisdom we will never not get sick, but we have the promise that we will have the energy we need to accomplish what is asked of us. One of the greatest sacrifices we have the chance to make is through baptism. We get to sacrifice our old way of life and we have the chance to start a new one following Christ. With the sacrifice of baptism comes the greatest blessing which is the Gift of the Holy Ghost. I love that no matter what sacrifice we are asked to make, there are always blessings that we receive. I love that we have a Heavenly Father that is so willing to give us blessings!!!



Fun things I learned this week-

1- TVs in restaurants are actually "tender mercies" given to us as missionaries.

2- If you want to keep your play-doh soft, you need to push the lid on REAL HARD 

3- Brownies from Wawa are pretty tasty when they are cold. 

4- Emus make an interesting noise, look it up, I promise!

5- 16x16 sudokus are pretty tough. 

6- Stop signs are pretty important. 

7- Chipotle chips have to have more than just salt because they are so good. 

8- Checkers fries are also very good and you can buy them here.

9- Pecan pie is not my pie of choice, but it is still a very good pie to eat in celebration of pi day. 

10- New glasses make it so you can see clearly again.

 December 5, 2020 Hello everybody! So many good things have happened recently! There are miracles all around us, God is so good!! Last weekend I had the chance to go to the temple with my companion, Tu'ineau shimai! She had invited me to go with her when she went through the temple, and of course I said yes. It was such a special experience to 1-be in the temple again and 2-meet my MTC companion in person.  I love the temple, it has always been a special place for me. Over the last year, my testimony and love for the temple has grown so much through the experiences I have had. One of the hardest things recently, is not being able to feel the peace that the temple brings me. Our teachers have encouraged us to make a place in our home our very own temple while all the temples are closed. A place that we can go to feel peace and close to God.  Sep 6, 2021, 2021 Hello everybody!  This week was miracle after miracle after miracle! It was amazing and an absolute amazing reminder of how incredible it is to be a missionary.  3 news  So throughout the week we have time set apart that we find people to teach. We will either look on social media, talk to members, go through our area book. All sorts of thing. Well...in a normal week for us we maybe find 1 or 2 new people. On Tuesday last week, we found 3 new people! By the end of the week we had a total of 5! There are so many people that have been prepared.  Saved contacts We decided we were going to contact a bunch of people one night and I had the thought to call Liz. Well...when I looked Liz up in our area book to get her number it wasn't there! Sometimes, if a person hasn't shown interest in a really really long time, their record will get deleted. I'm a real FOM missionary

November 8, 2021 Hello everybody! How are y'all doing? How was your week? Because mine was all over the place! We had so many miracles when it came to member meals this week! Our favorite was definitely when this couple invited us to go to the temple with them! So background, Sister Blanchard is going to France next Monday and she really wanted to go to the temple before she left. We called President Ashcraft and he said there wasn't any way we could just go. So we had been praying and praying that there would be a reason we could go to the temple. Then we go to this member meal and we get talking about the temple. Turns out, the wife has been asking and asking people if they could go and everyone kept turning her down. So now, we get to go! And to make it even better, when we asked President Ashcraft about it, he encouraged us to take a recent convert with us and we just happen to have a friend named Angel who has never been!
