Only 6 more :((

Hello everybody!

I hope you all have been doing so so good! Here's my updates from the last couple of weeks!

Transfers

We found out transfer news this last week and Sister Pierce is leaving me! She is moving up north to Lake Emma to be with one of my absolute favorite sisters in the mission. I get to stay in Canoe Creek and I get to train again!! Woot woot! Crazy thing is....I only have 1 more transfer left of my mission! I know. 6 more weeks. I am sure my mom is just so sad about it. It will be really good though! I find out who I am training tomorrow!

So onto some miracles

Linda

Linda is a lady in our area that has been in contact with the missionaries on and off for a while. She has never really been taught, but we do service for her occasionally. First miracle, she called us and asked if we could come over to help her. And second miracle, while we were helping her organize her kitchen she asked us what we do as missionaries. I explained we study the gospel and then go out and teach people about Christ and His gospel. She asked how and I said a lot through the scriptures, like the Book of Mormon. And then she goes, what do you teach about the Book of Mormon! Literally she opened up so much and was so receptive to what we were saying. Turns out her dad was a member and she said it would bring her comfort knowing what he believed would happen to him when he passed away. So...we got to teach some of the plan of salvation too! Literally God has been preparing her so much!

Rob

This is a friend we just always "happen" to bump into at the Lakefront. But it is a little crazy because every time we pull up, so is he. Like we don't plan to meet him there and it's at different times everyday. We asked this week if he would want to get together to read the Book of Mormon with us and he said yes!

Rose

Ok so our friend Marcelino lives with his dad and his sister, Rose. His dad and sister are really friendly to us but have never expressed interest and never said much more than hi to us. Well, there was one night this week we were suppose to have dinner with a member, but she had to cancel because her car broke down and she got stuck in Orlando. So we decided to go and visit Marcelino. When we got there, him and his dad were telling us how sick Rose had been feeling. We called the Elders, they came over, gave her a priesthood blessing, and it was so good! First, the dad and the sister actually talked to us. And not only talked to us, but we got to share a scripture with them. Second, Rose started to feel better right after the blessing. And then third, we were able to invite the dad to Marcelino's baptism and he said he would come. Literally bad things happen sometimes in our life, so God can bring about his purposes. If the member had had us over none of that would've happened!

Marcelino!!

Marcelino got baptized on Saturday and it went so well! He was so so happy the whole day! His dad was able to make it and it was the cutest thing listening to him. The whole time Marcelino was in the font, he was just giggling because he was so happy!

Michelle

Michelle was a lady that we called Sister Pierce's first week here. It was a huge miracle but then she ghosted us and we couldn't get in contact. We went on exchanges last week and they set up a call with Michelle Tuesday night. Huge miracle! So we called her one night and ended up having this 45 minute conversation with her. She was so open and told us anything we taught her she would be open to because she is so interested in learning more about Christianity and Christ in general! The craziest thing, she was getting ready to switch her phone number, so if they hadn't called during exchanges, we might not ever have gotten in contact again!!

Why I love Jesus

Sister Pierce and I gave a training this last week at our district council and I just wanted to share what we did. We talked about how sometimes we can feel so overwhelmed by what we need to accomplish that it almost seems impossible. This can be especially true for missionaries when it comes to goals. But our mission president has asked us to focus on the simple things that will help us accomplish those goals and a big part of that is our own spiritual conversion. So we asked everyone in our district to stand and share why they love Jesus Christ. Because to me, there is nothing that can invite the spirit and touch people more than when we share our testimonies of Jesus Christ. It was so interesting to me listening to what everyone said. There were some common themes between all of them. They said

I love Jesus because

-He loved us first

-He set the example for each of us

-He gives us purpose

-He is our light and gives us hope

-He is patient with us through our trials

-He was willing to die for each of us and give us the free gift of His Atonement

It was such a powerful meeting to be at as I heard some of my closest friends bear witness that they know Christ loves them. I hope that you know that He loves you too!

Have a great week!
