Alfred the Duck

March 22, 2021

Hello everybody!

It had been a little "cold" the last few days here in Florida, meaning it was in the 60s. Everyone is out wearing their jackets, meanwhile Sister Crandell and I think it is the most perfect weather outside, meanwhile Southern Utah gets snow in March! I don't even know what to think anymore!

Sister Crandell and I got to give a training this week during district council on personal revelation. I love learning about personal revelation and how to receive it. Sometimes personal revelation can be seen as just receiving answers to questions. but it is so much more! Personal revelation can be comforted, guidance, or a witness of truth! I love that President Nelson has put such a strong emphasis on personal revelation by asking how we "Hear Him". In one of his conference talks he says, "I promise that as you continue to be obedient, expressing gratitude for every blessing the Lord gives you, and as you patiently honor the Lord’s timetable, you will be given the knowledge and understanding you seek. Every blessing the Lord has for you—even miracles—will follow. That is what personal revelation will do for you." Receiving personal revelation takes time, but it does come! The Lord is so aware of us and the answers we need. He wants to give us those blessings, we just need to be ready to hear them!

We were also able to have an amazing lesson this week focusing on the healing power that comes from the Atonement of Christ. We read a talk called "The Master Healer" and Sister Stephens talks in it about how we can be healed from our own sins, from pain caused by others, and from pains of mortality like illness and death. Not only do we receive all these forms of healing, but the savior gives us the exact healing we need in each case. Sister Stephens said, "Our Savior will likewise speak to us in a voice we recognize when we come to Him—for He knows us. He meets us where we are. And because of who He is and what He has done for us, He understands. Because He has experienced our pain, He can give us living water when we seek it." Christ knows the exactly how we feel because He felt it all. I am so grateful that I get to spread the message of Christ and His healing Atonement with those around me!

Interesting facts of the week

1- Vanilla is the best ice cream flavor at Twistee Treat followed closely by strawberry and then chocolate. I know, it took us all by surprise.

2- If you need to make an acronym, it is perfectly fine to throw in some made up silent letters so you can have the words you want.

3- Just like pancakes, if you put chocolate chips in them, it makes them so much better.

4- A duck started following us home from the lakefront, so we named him Alfred.

5- Club sandwiches are always a safe bet at restaurants.

6- It is amazing how Brussel sprouts grow! Seriously, look it up!

7- Watching kids roll around in boxes is quality entertainment during lunch.

8- Baby cats are adorable.

9- I am a big fan of kid pizza, Hawaiian, and not a big fan of adult pizza, veggie.

10- Kael has the best mask, baby Yoda.

I hope you all have an amazing week!
