7 Different Frostings Later...
March 8, 2021
Hello everybody!!
I hope you all had an amazing week, because I know I sure did!
Saturday we found out about transfers. Sister Crandell and I are staying together here in Narcoossee!! We are pumped and ready to have an amazing transfer. So many good things are happening here, so I am glad neither of us are leaving. We are expecting to see lots of miracles this transfer, so buckle up and get ready!!
Page got baptized yesterday!! It was such a special day. She got up and bore her testimony during Sacrament meeting, and the Spirit was so strong!! I haven't known her for very long, but what I do know, is that she is so prepared. In a lot of our meeting yesterday, we talked about how it is small things over time that help people draw closer to Christ. We may not always see the effect our actions have, but they do have an impact. The guy that gave Page her Book of Mormon a year ago was at her baptism and he was so happy!! I don't know if he thought it would take a year, or be longer, or shorter, but I think he knew it would bless her at some point. Page kept telling us this was her time, and she was absolutely right.
That has already been one of the biggest lessons learned for me. We have a few people and families we are teaching. Some progress faster and some much slower, but what I love is they all have that desire. They have a desire to know the truth, feel the Spirit, and follow Christ. They are learning that sometimes it takes time to receive answers and I am learning that all I can do sometimes is give them opportunities to feel the Spirit. Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us. He knows exactly where we are and where we are supposed to go. Sometimes all we can do is trust that He will help us know where to go through the Holy Ghost. I am so grateful that I am continually learning how the Spirit speaks to me!
I have been especially grateful for my Savior this last week. During my personal study, I have been going through all the references for Jesus Christ in the topical guide. I felt an incredible amount of love as I read the verses in relation to the Atonement. Christ was willing to suffer so that He would know how to bless us in our times of need. I loved this quote by President Eyring from last conference.
"In all things, the Savior’s example is our best guide. He was not exempt from the need to prove Himself. He endured for all of Heavenly Father’s children, paying the price for all our sins. He felt the suffering of all who have and will come into mortality. When you wonder how much pain you can endure well, remember Him. He suffered what you suffer so that He would know how to lift you up. He may not remove the burden, but He will give you strength, comfort, and hope. He knows the way. He drank the bitter cup. He endured the suffering of all."
This brought me so much comfort this week and it was something I needed to be reminded of. I am so grateful for my Savior and for His willingness to pay the ultimate price so He could strengthen me!!
